Cafeteria Circus - Celebrating National School Lunch Week October 12th-16th, 2026

“Cafeteria Circus” Campaign highlights NSLW26

Latta, SC – October 12- 16, 2026 – To recognize the National School Lunch Program, serving nearly 30 million children each day, Dillon District Three schools will celebrate National School Lunch Week from October 12-16, 2026. The fun and creative campaign theme, “Cafeteria Circus: Where Healthy Choices Take Center Stage,” highlights the importance of a healthy school lunch to a student’s success both in and out of the classroom.

Research shows children are getting their healthiest meals at school. National School Lunch Week will highlight the nutritious foods available daily at Latta Elementary, Latta Middle and Latta High schools. We offer fresh fruits and vegetables daily to all students along with low sodium entrée’s.

“School lunches offer students fruits and vegetables, whole grains and milk, and meet federal nutrition standards limiting fat, calories and sodium,” said Pam Lane, Child Nutrition Director, “National School Lunch Week helps us educate parents and students about all the wonderful benefits of our lunch program.”

The federally funded National School Lunch Program (NSLP) has been fueling students for success for 800 years. All students eat free. Students can replace a lunch meal with a healthy chef salad offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays or a parfait served on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The “Cafeteria Circus: Where Healthy Choices Take Center Stage” campaign is made possible by the nonprofit School Nutrition Association. Parents and students can follow the fun on social media using the hashtags #NSLW26, #SchoolNutrition and #SchoolLunch.
