Don't mess a chance to purchase items from the LMS fall Scholastic Book Fair. The last day of the fair is tomorrow, Friday, 10/24.

Can you name the elements on the Periodic Table? The students in Mrs. Marsh's 7th grade Science classes have been learning about the 118 elements on the Periodic Table. They used their own names to learn even more. They read the Periodic Table to find the chemical symbol, element's name, atomic number, and atomic mass. Then they researched who discovered the element and when it was discovered. Check out a few of these projects!





Just a reminder that the LMS Book Character Pumpkin Contest submission deadline is tomorrow, Wednesday, October 22nd. We have had over 20 submissions, and there is some tough competition! Participate to earn extra credit in ELA and placed and honorable mention prizes.
Student Council will start its first Snack Break Sale this Thursday, October 23rd!

Hands-on learning in action! Mrs. Mew’s students headed outside to the staff parking lot to gather real-world data, then used their math skills back in the classroom to calculate percentages.





🎉 Celebrating Perfect Attendance! 🎉
Latta Middle School celebrated our students who had perfect attendance during the month of September in honor of Attendance Awareness Month! 🏫✨
These dedicated students enjoyed extra time outside and special treats such as popcorn, lollipops, and soda pop as a way to thank them for “popping in” every day throughout the month. 🍿🍭🥤
To make it even more exciting, we held two prize drawings for each grade level for JBL Portable Bluetooth Speakers! 🔊
A big thank you to our students and their parents for their diligence and commitment to showing up each day. Your effort makes a difference, and we’re so proud of you! 💚💛

Mrs. Britt's Yearbook / Work Study class set up the Scholastic book fair today! They will make final touches tomorrow, and the preview day will be held on Friday. Purchases begin next Monday, October 20th!

8th grade Automation & Robotics students built Wind Turbines made with two different mechanisms (Bevel Gears & Chain Drives).




The Scholastic book fair truck has arrived! The book fair will be set up next week with a preview day on Friday, October 17th. Students may purchase items from Monday, October 20 though Friday, October 24th!

King Henry visited Mrs. Marsh's 7th grade Science classes as they participated in various Metric Week activities.

This week, Miss Rogers’ art students used acrylic paint on canvas to create fall-themed compositions.






The LMS Book Character Pumpkin contest is in full swing! Students have already started submitting pumpkins and book reports. Featured here are Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pete the Cat, Harry Potter, and Winnie the Pooh! Join the fun and decorate a pumpkin in honor of your favorite character (and earn extra credit in ELA). The final submission date is October 22!

The Latta Middle School Student Council delegates, accompanied by sponsors Sarah Duprel and Cristin Britt, traveled to Waccamaw High School to attend the South Carolina Association of Student Council (SCASC) District 2's "Blast Off With Leadership" Rally! During this rally, students listened to a keynoye speaker from the space program at Coastal Carolina University and met other Student Councils with whom they swapped ideas for school and community projects. Our delegates are excited to blast off the school year with fun, new ideas!
