This is for graduating seniors who have future employment options, joining the military, or attending college after graduation. The mandatory participation form and letter of acceptance/recruitment/employment is due by April 24 - 11:59PM and is on the "Class of 2026" Google Class Page. Ms. Gomillion's PLTW students are learning how to program a Lynxmotion Robotic Arm. With this activity, these students are developing their problem-solving and engineering skills through hands-on exploration!

Asparagus was introduced to students this week, Tuesday, April 14, 2026! The asparagus was provided by our home state, South Carolina farmers through the Certified SC Cafeteria Program. The asparagus was slightly roasted and served. Many of the students stated that this was their first time trying asparagus and they enjoyed it!

Latta FFA will start its Annual Spring Plant sale on Wednesday, April 1st at 8:45 AM. Normal hours will be 8:45-9:45,
10:20-11:20 and 12:30-1:30 Monday – Friday and 9:00- 12:00 on Saturday.

Students in Ms. Gomez and Ms. Glover's Anatomy classes took part in a CPR training facilitated by Mr. Robbie McDaniel. These students are better prepared to help those in need. We appreciate Mr. McDaniel coming to work with our students on such a vital skill!

Attention Juniors and Seniors: The ASVAB Test will be administered on Mar. 5, 2026. If you would like to take this test, please sign up on your Google Classroom "Class of" page. The ASVAB is used to determine a career or determine eligibility to enlist in the military. The ASVAB does not enlist a person in the military--it is simply for those who may be interested in joining a military branch.

The LHS Student Council is sponsoring a Winter Semi-Formal Dance on Saturday, February 7th from 7:30-10:30 PM.
The dance will be held in the LHS gym. Tickets are $5.
Only LHS students are eligible to attend. Tickets will be sold during lunch starting the week of January 19th. Please see Mrs. Bryson, Mrs. Roberts, or any student council member with any questions.

Mrs. Reynolds' IB Language and Literature students participated in a mock trial, where Meursault, the main character in the novella The Stranger, is put on trial for murder. Both sides presented a compelling case, and everyone did a wonderful job in their legal role for the trial!

FCA is hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive from November 10th – November 21st. They are collecting non-perishable foods for a local food pantry. Please take any donations to your first block class. For every five items you donate, you’ll get one ticket entered into a raffle for a free FCA t-shirt. For ideas on what to donate, check out the flyers posted on each hallway. It is also attached with this post.
