Pizza party time! Senior students were recognized for their outstanding performance on the WIN Career Readiness Assessment and for demonstrating skills that support future college and career success. We are proud of their hard work and determination!


Seniors: This is just a reminder that Class Night will now be at 5:30 PM today, May 26th. Be sure to be in the gym a little before 5:30 this evening. You may sit anywhere in a white chair. Please be sure to be dressed appropriately based on the information sent in the senior letter from a little while back. Please wear your gown but no cap.
Also, graduation practice will be at 8:30 AM tomorrow, May 27th, in the gym. Please report to the gym by 8:30 in the morning. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks!
The LHS Future Farmers of America (FFA) group will host a Goat Drop fundraiser and silent auction tomorrow evening, May 22nd.
The silent auction will begin at 5:30 PM, and the FFA Goat Drop will take place at 6:00 PM. Silent auction items include a grill, a class ring voucher, eight single graduation tickets for the LHS graduation ceremony, and many other great items!
The event will take place near the Ag Shop behind LHS. All proceeds will benefit the LHS FFA program.

If you are a rising junior/senior interested in the newly-developed Aeronautics Program, you are invited to attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and tour on Wednesday, May 20th at 5:00. More details are on the flyer below. We are very excited about this new opportunity for students!

LHS student artwork was chosen to be put on display at the Dillon County Youth Art Exhibition. Their art will be on display May 15th through the 21st at the City of Dillon Visitor's Center. Congratulations to these talented artists; be sure to go by and check out their work!

As you may have seen, we are planning a trip to Spain during Winter Intersession 2028! Students in grades 7-12 are eligible to attend this trip (LMS students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian). The flyer attached contains a QR code — if you are interested in attending, please RSVP via the code/link in the flyer. This has also been posted on the "Class of" pages, and paper copies are available. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Roberts.

It's that time of year again! Please be sure to turn in all library books by Wednesday, May 13th. See Mr. Williams if you need to keep your books any longer than that date for a school assignment.

The Latta High School Dance Education students will hold their spring semester dance showcase, All that Jazz, on Thursday, May 14th and Friday, May 15th in the EPAC. The students will performance dances based on the historical development of the American-born dance style of jazz dance along with student self-choreographed dances! The show begins at 6:30 pm each night, and admission is $5.00 per guest.

Volleyball conditioning starts tomorrow, tomorrow May 5th! Please review the attached flyer for more information, and see Mrs. Jordan if you have any questions.

Attention Seniors! Senior Decision Day will be on Monday, April 27th at 2PM in the EPAC. This is your chance to announce your future plans. This is for graduating seniors who have future employment options, joining the military, or attending college after graduation. The mandatory participation form and letter of acceptance/recruitment/employment is due by April 24 - 11:59PM and is on the "Class of 2026" Google Class Page. If the required info is not submitted on time, you will not be able to participate. See the Class of 2026 for more information or talk with Mrs. Blanchard or Coach Short.

Ms. Gomillion's PLTW students are learning how to program a Lynxmotion Robotic Arm. With this activity, these students are developing their problem-solving and engineering skills through hands-on exploration!




Asparagus was introduced to students this week, Tuesday, April 14, 2026! The asparagus was provided by our home state, South Carolina farmers through the Certified SC Cafeteria Program. The asparagus was slightly roasted and served. Many of the students stated that this was their first time trying asparagus and they enjoyed it!





Latta FFA will start its Annual Spring Plant sale on Wednesday, April 1st at 8:45 AM. Normal hours will be 8:45-9:45,
10:20-11:20 and 12:30-1:30 Monday – Friday and 9:00- 12:00 on Saturday.
If you need to schedule a time outside of normal hours, you can email Mr. Miles at amiles@lattavikings.com, and he will schedule a time that works for you.

The SC Department of Education’s Office of Student and Community Engagement is offering a free community-focused training on Mentorship and Literacy Tutoring on March 27th from 9am-12pm. If you are interested in attending please see the attached flyer for details and registration.

This Saturday, March 14th, come out and see who will be crowned Miss Viking 2026. The pageant begins at 5:00 pm in the EPAC, and admissions is $5.00
