The Missing Man Table - Today in the cafeteria, please take a moment to notice the Missing Man Table. The Missing Man Table is set every Veteran's and Memorial Day. It is meant to remind viewers of the fallen, missing, or imprisoned U.S. military service members, our veterans. The white tablecloth symbolizes those who answered the call, the black napkin represents the sorrow of captivity, the single red rose signifies the blood shed by many to ensure our freedom, the slice of lemon reminds us of their bitter fate and the salt sprinkled on the plate reminds us of the countless fallen tears of families as they wait. The upside down glass is because they cannot toast with us and the candle is for the light of hope to illuminate the way home, and last, the chair sits empty because they are not here.
We will be having attendance recovery every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:35-4:35 in room 105. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Roberson.
From November 4th until the 18th there will be a canned food drive. The first block class that brings in the most cans will receive a reward! The cans will be distributed locally and will help your neighbors in need.
Girl Talk will meet today, November 11th right after school in Mrs. Dailey's classroom.
Auditions for Viking Theatre Workshop’s production of Annie, Jr. will be November 14th and 15th from 3:45-5:30 in the LHS chorus room. You only need to attend one day of auditions. Audition materials can be found on the Viking Theatre Workshop’s Google Classroom page (code=zuvcbt4) or from Mrs. Roberts. Please see Mrs. Roberts with any questions.
