Learning Lab activity

On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, our 8th grade students had the exciting opportunity to participate in the South Carolina Farm Bureau Learning Lab – Ag in the Classroom!

Students spent the day exploring agriculture through a variety of hands-on, interactive learning experiences. They identified different types of seeds, matched agricultural categories, and even stepped into the world of farming through an exciting virtual reality experience. Students also discovered the many uses and benefits of soybeans and learned just how important this crop is to our everyday lives.

One of the highlights of the experience was the opportunity for students to make their very own soy crayon using soy wax! This creative activity allowed students to see firsthand how soybeans can be transformed into useful products.

Our students thoroughly enjoyed this engaging learning experience while gaining a greater appreciation for agriculture, soybeans, and the many ways agricultural products are used in our daily lives. We are grateful to the South Carolina Farm Bureau for providing such a memorable and educational experience for our students!
