GREENVILLE, SC--The Latta High School FFA Chapter celebrated an outstanding achievement at the 99th South Carolina FFA Convention in Greenville, earning the State Championship in the Agricultural Communications Career Development Event (CDE).
The championship team included Hannah Lauren Berry, Kate Gasque, Lydia George, and Abigail Jones, who competed under the leadership of FFA advisor Mr. Aaron Miles. Throughout the competition, the team demonstrated exceptional communication skills, creativity, teamwork, and agricultural knowledge to earn the top honor among teams from across South Carolina.
The Agricultural Communications Career Development Event challenges students to communicate the importance of agriculture through a variety of media platforms, including print, broadcast, and digital communications. Competitors work as media consultants by developing strategic communication plans while also completing individual assessments in writing, editing, design, and other communication-based skills.
By combining strong communication abilities with their knowledge of agriculture, the Latta FFA team showcased the essential role that effective storytelling plays in connecting the public with the agricultural industry.
This state championship reflects the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of these students, as well as the outstanding leadership provided by Mr. Miles. Their accomplishment also highlights the high-quality opportunities available through Latta High School's agricultural education and FFA program.
The Agricultural Communications CDE prepares students for future careers in fields such as journalism, public relations, marketing, broadcasting, social media, and agricultural communications while developing valuable career-ready skills.
Congratulations to Hannah Lauren Berry, Kate Gasque, Lydia George, Abigail Jones, and Mr. Aaron Miles on this remarkable accomplishment and for representing Latta High School with excellence at the state level.
