The 2026 South Carolina Teacher of the Year, Mr. Corey Bedenbaugh, visited Latta High School on Thursday, March 5th. The eighth-grade social studies teacher from Batesburg-Leesville Middle School talked with Mrs. Bryson's Teacher Cadet class as well as Mrs. Wiggins' Sociology class.
Mr. Bedenbaugh is the first Teacher of the Year to visit LHS. He talked with students about what inspired him to become an educator and the importance of the teaching profession. He also discussed one of the most important aspects of teaching: building relationships with students. He ended his time at LHS answering student questions regarding the process of becoming the Teacher of the Year and other topics in education.
We appreciate Mr. Bedenbaugh for visiting our campus and inspiring our students to consider teaching in the future!
