E-Learning Day

Due to the forecasted snowy conditions and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students and staff, Dillon District 3 will shift to an eLearning day on Monday, February 2nd.

Students will not report to the building but are expected to participate in learning activities from home. Teachers will be available during school hours to support students and answer questions via Google Classroom, email, and/or Rooms (see Viking app).

Students (1st grade-12th grade) will bring Chromebooks and chargers home today.  Please ensure your child logs in to Google Classroom and completes the assigned work for Monday. You may reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions about accessing content.  Attendance will be taken based on engagement and completion of activities.

In the event that the snow prevents us from returning to school on Tuesday, another message will be sent out to alert you.  Your child will have enough eLearning work for multiple days in the event that we have to stay out longer.

We are fortunate to have the opportunity to use closures as an eLearning day so that we do not have to make these days up in the future (as required by state law for public schools).  I'm sure that many of you have plans for the week of Intersession and Spring Break that we are trying not to interrupt.  I am looking forward to seeing some snow, and I know we will have plenty of time to enjoy it while having meaningful learning take place as well.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our school community.  Now..get ready to go Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland!
